Sterling Foundation Management is seeking applicants to our 2026 Summer Internship program. This is a paid internship offering competitive hourly wages. Preference will be given to current or recent undergraduate students.

ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP:
Gain exposure to the world of nonprofits, philanthropy, and wealth management with a world-class team of consultants. Develop and execute projects that fit your interests while benefitting Sterling and its clients. Shadow senior company leaders and develop your professionalism as you prepare to enter the workforce. Interns contribute directly to client work and are given responsibilities that build practical skills in a professional environment.
Internships with Sterling Foundation Management are not an audition and do not end with a job offer. Our program is designed to help you grow your skillset while providing our organization the chance to learn from your fresh perspective. Your mentor(s) at Sterling will gladly serve as a resource in your career development during and after your internship by leading one-on-one resume building workshops, software training sessions, and serving as a reference for future job opportunities.
ABOUT YOU:
The right person for this job must be optimistic in nature, high energy, self-sufficient, flexible, and able to work with all kinds of people. The successful candidate will be a natural problem solver who is naturally curious in their drive to get better, and will ultimately make those around them better. An interest in wealth management, tax strategies, and philanthropy is a plus.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating with your mentor(s) to pilot a summer-long project of your creation that will aide in company operations and utilize your interests and skills
- Delivering same-day research to answer client questions and maintain Sterling’s position as a most trust advisor
- Maintaining client and company confidentiality
- Conducting due diligence for grant requests, paying grants, and updating company’s grant database
- Performing administrative tasks to ensure compliance with federal and state laws
- Researching and obtain state-level tax exemptions for charities to maximize philanthropic spending
- Managing multiple tasks for various departments simultaneously and prioritizing and completing tasks in a timely manner
- Overseeing other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time
Qualifications:
- Ability to thrive in sometimes ambiguous, small office environment; highly self-motivated
- Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- A selfless team player and willing collaborator
- A professional demeanor to engage with sophisticated clients and partners
- Interpersonal skills to communicate with clients and coworkers from all walks of life
- Technological literacy and/or proficiency in MS Office programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
