Client Support Manager

Chris DeWaard joined Sterling in 2024 as our foundations Client Support lead. She manages foundation governance compliance, state annual and charitable solicitation registrations, invoicing and all other aspects of compliance in the ever-changing regulatory arena of private foundations. With her high degree of attention to detail, correctness and diligence, Chris plays a crucial role in overseeing foundation compliance requirement, ensuring clients receive seamless, reliable and professional support in Sterling’s care.

Chris has more than a decade of experience in the financial services industry, most recently spending eight years at McLean Mortgage Corporation. Her experience has earned her a reputation as an analytical operations professional who provides practical solutions to diverse challenges.

Chris earned her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Rochester, and an MBA in finance and corporate accounting from the University of Rochester.

Outside the office, Chris has served as treasurer of the Greenway Farm Swim Team and as treasurer of The Loudoun Chorale, a community chorus she has been singing with for 12 years. Additionally, she has led Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University sessions at Leesburg United Methodist Church.
